The stage is set for one of the biggest days in the Waterford GAA calendar as Rathgormack and The Nire go head-to-head in the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Senior Football County Final.

This promises to be an epic battle between two of Waterford’s football powerhouses. Rathgormack will be looking to complete a historic three-in-a-row, while The Nire aim to reclaim county glory and halt their rivals’ dominance.

Recent Form

Rathgormack:
The reigning champions have been in scintillating form, averaging 20 points per game this season. They survived a major scare in the semi-final against Abbeyside/Ballinacourty, edging through thanks to a late goal from Stephen Curry and a free from Jason Curry. Key scorers include Stephen Curry (1-15 from play), Conor Murray (1-10), and Jason Curry (0-11). Rathgormack retained the Conway Cup in 2024 with a 2-10 to 0-8 win over Abbeyside/Ballinacourty and defeated The Nire in the 2023 final (1-09 to 0-06).
