Concussion Awareness Workshop for Coaches & Parents

Déise Óg Waterford are delighted to partner with WIT Vikings GAA Club & UPMC Whitfield for a workshop on Concussion Awareness for Coaches & Parents of Young Players. The workshop will take place in WIT Arena next Thursday 11th July 7.30pm-9pm. This is part of our summer programme with WIT Vikings GAA Club and similar workshops are being delivered to various Déise Óg Development Squads


It will be co-presented by Dr Tadhg Crowley, Clinical Lead UPMC Concussion Network and Derek O’Neill, Lead Physiotherapist UPMC Concussion Network. Dr Crowley and Derek carry a wealth of experience in sports medicine and rehabilitation through their involvement with Kilkenny Senior and Waterford Minor hurling teams. Both have completed specialist training with concussion specialists at the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Programme, Pittsburgh and are among a growing team clinicians nationally adopting UPMC concussion management guidelines.

  • The Diagnosis & Treatment of Concussion - A Doctor’s View
  • The Rehabilitation of Concussion - A Physiotherapist’s View
  • Accessing UPMC Concussion Care & Management Pathways
