COUNTY MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP CONTINUES…

This Sunday morning (February 15th) sees the second round of games in this year’s JJ Kavanagh & Sons (sponsored) County-wide Minor Football Championship take place with action across all three venues at various venues throughout the city and county.

DIVISION 1:

Defending champions The Nire got their campaign off to a winning start last weekend with an impressive win away to De La Salle, the Ballymac men are on the road again this Sunday when they travel to face Gaultier (who themselves had an opening day win against Dungarvan), this could very well be the game of the weekend with very little to choose between these two evenly matched teams. Elsewhere in the top tier action, Naomh Deglán Thoir (who had a Bye last weekend) play host to Ballinacourty at the Kilmacthomas venue, while Tramore entertain Dungarvan with both sides seeking their first win of the campaign.

In group 1, Stradbally who lost their opening game have home advantage against Naomh Bríd who play their opening game of the Championship, while St. Saviour’s face Rathgormack at Ballybeg, this should be an interesting clash as both sides recorded impressive opening day wins last weekend.

Group two sees Cois Bhride go up against Clashmore / Kinsalebeg in Tallow, it’s a local derby clash at Bushy Park where Brickey Rangers and St. Oliver’s go head to head.
