JJ KAVANAGH & SONS CO. MINOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GETS UNDERWAY
The first local Championship of 2015 gets underway this Sunday morning (February 8th) with the opening round of games in the County-wide Minor Football competition take centre stage.
Division 1:
Co. champions The Nire begin the defence of their title with an away tie against De La Salle, Dungarvan have home advantage against Gaultier (who won last year’s U-16 Division 1 title), while Ballinacourty play host to Tramore

De La Salle Vs. The Nire @ Gracedieu
Dungarvan Vs. Gaultier @ Dungarvan club grounds
Division 2:
Division 2 is spilt into two groups this year, with the top qualifying for the semi – finals, while 2nd and 3rd on each group play each other in the Quarter – Finals.
In group 1, Rathgormack take on Stradbally while St. Saviour’s make the trip to An Rinn to entertain An Ghaeltacht, elsewhere in group 2 which consists of all Western teams, St. Oliver’s face last year’s Co. champions Clashmore / Kinsalebeg in Ballinameela, in the remaining Division 2 game Ardmore are at home to Brickey Rangers
Group 1: Rathgormack Vs. Stradbally @ Rathgormack, An Ghaeltacht Vs. St. Saviour’s @ An Rinn, Naomh Brid (Bye)

There are four games down for decision here with the fixtures as follows:

Sacred Heart Vs. Na Gaeil @ Poleberry
Portlaw Vs. Ballyduff Upper @ Portlaw
Kilrossanty Vs. Ferrybank @ Leamybrien
ALL GAMES Throw – In @ 11:30 am
The 2nd round of games in the Co. MFC will be played on Sunday February 15th, with all games again starting @ 11:30 am.
