Jim Power U14 Football Tournament & Déise Óg Football Squads

July 05, 2019

This Saturday 6th July is going to be a busy day for the Déise Óg Football Development Squads with U14, U15 & U16 squads in action in Waterford, Limerick & Westmeath.

The Jim Power U14 Tournament takes place again this year in Bushy Park & Dungarvan GAA Club Grounds. This long running tournament, run by Bord na nÓg Port Láirge always produces top class matches. The Déise Óg panel and selectors have been preparing well in recent weeks and are looking forward to the competition. They start with a game against Tipperary Gold at 11.15. Round 2 is at 12.45pm against Limerick with the final group game against South Kerry at 2.15pm.

The top team in each group qualifies for Cup Final at 4pm with Group runners up into Shield Final at 3.45pm both games in Bushy Park.

Our U15 Footballers are in Kilbeggan Co Westmeath to face Westmeath in Round 3 of the national competition. After a draw v Limerick & victory v Wexford they will be hoping for another good performance to qualify for the Cup Semi Finals as one of the top 2 teams in the group.

The U16's are playing in Rathkeale in the Woodlands Tournament. Day 1 is tomorrow with regional qualifiers in Munster Group 1. Waterford play Limerick at 11am, Cord Red at 12.30pm & Kerry North at 2pm. The position in the group will determine if they qualify for Cup & Shield Section on Day 2 Sat 27th July.

We wish al teams and selectors the best of luck tomorrow and ask for support for all teams. Players and management have been preparing well with training and challenge games since start of season. There is huge work being done and the many volunteer hours given by all are appreciated by all in Déise Óg
