Intermediate & Junior A football

Last weekend saw the pairings for this year's Intermediate & Junior A Western decided with some entertaining semi final games of football on show around our West Waterford grounds. Friday night saw the meeting of Shamrocks and Affane in the Fraher Field. A good game of football with the sides level at half time, but the shamrocks men coming out the stronger in the second half to win convincingly in this Junior A decider. Saturday saw the first of this year's Intermediate semi finals with Dungarvan outscoring Sliabh gCua. The game itself did not live up to expectations as we witnessed poor football at times from both sides but nevertheless Dungarvan won't mind as they head into this week's final after their ten point win. Sunday saw the Junior A clash of Tallow & Ballyduff Upper in Cappoquin. A close game in the end with Ballyduff losing out by one point to their neighbours Tallow.

The final game of the weekend in Intermediate Football was in Bushy Park where Modeligo and Ballinameela went toe to toe in what was an entertaining game for the handful of spectators presents. Both sides went for this from the off and it was the men from Modeligo coming out on top by five points. Results are as follows:

Radley Engineering Intermediate Football Western S/Fs

Dungarvan   2.12   Sliabh gCua    0.08

Modeligo     3.13   Ballinameela    1.14

Lawlors Hotel Junior A Football Western S/Fs

Tallow          1.14     Ballyduff Upper   1.13

Shamrocks   3.10     Affane                  0.11
